I began my journey in the arts as a photographer in high school where I often explored topics of body image and race through film portraiture (35mm and 120). In my undergrad, my photography focused more intensely on expressions of race and femininity and was often informed by my personal exploration of sexuality and expression. As I made the transition from still image to moving picture during the pandemic, I began crafting stories of love and emotional growth. While none of these topics have necessarily disappeared from my current work, I try to explore more “slice of life” and coming of age narratives. My most recent film, “The Morning After”, follows Chloe, 26, after she recently gets diagnosed with IBS and has a crisis in her most recent hookup’s home.
